We continuously evolve our training program to hone in on the skills and experiences that help employees become the best urban, indoor farmers possible. Anyone with an interest in gardening and a commitment to volunteer service can become a Rutgers Master Gardener. Introduction The programme offers a varied set of courses (obligatory and elective), seminars, working groups sessions, and a series of guest lectures by internationally well-known scholars. Furthermore, you conduct your own research project (thesis) in which you apply theories and social scientific research methods to examine urban governance issues. This program is different from internship programs; the mentored farmer is not required to help on the mentor’s farm, unless both feel this would be beneficial. Instead, the mentor visits the mentored farmer at least once in the year, and is available to answer questions by phone and email.
